The US launch of ‘Voices from the Grassroots’ will happen on the 26th of September at the ILR school, Cornell University, USA. Cornell had also hosted the launch of my earlier book, ‘i, the citizen’ in 2015 and this can be viewed at ITC launch in US. Incidentally, Cornell University Press has also published the Global edition of this book.
Nations around the world are challenged on how to ensure the benefits of governance and development reach the last mile. When all things are said and done, what really matters is whether the person at the end of the road is feeling the impact of, and getting the benefits of good governance. ‘Antyodaya’ & ‘Janabhagidari’ are powerful concepts that India is keeping as the paradigms to ensure this. Prime Minister Modi refers to this repeatedly and exhorts all stakeholders to ensure that no one is left out and all are included in the growth journey of India. I wrote about

‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ – one must have heard this call for action several times over the last few years. When I interact with Civil servants and citizens, I find that each one has a perspective on what it means. Most of them relate it to economic independence, self-reliance or producing goods and services within India. This call given by Hon Prime Minister Modi includes all this and much more.
